Joining the ongoing viral ‘ Nicki Minaj Pose ‘ trend, Nigerian dancer   Janemena   has shocked fans after sharing a video of her attempt at the challenge. The viral challenge involved people, mostly women, balancing on precariously stacked objects, such as gym weights, narrow tables, or bricks, while Nicki Minaj’s  ‘High School’  played in the background. What makes the challenge even more difficult is that you have to wear heels and squat with one leg crossed over the other, all while balancing on your chosen platform. Not one to disappoint, Janemena took the viral challenge to a whole new level by carrying her baby while she performed the challenge. Perched on two gym weights stacked on each other and wearing black heels, blue Iro and  Buba  with matching gele, she held her baby while the person recording slowly circled her.

Nigerian music stars  Wizkid  and  Davido  have reignited their long-standing rivalry with a fresh exchange of words on social media platform, X (formerly Twitter). The drama began on the morning of Tuesday, July 22, when Wizkid took to his page and wrote, “ Biggest 🦅 ”, seemingly declaring himself the greatest in the Nigerian music industry. Shortly after, Davido fired back with a mocking response, quoting Wizkid’s tweet and writing, “ For your parlor. ” He then went on to post a link highlighting his career achievements, further asserting his dominance in the industry. In another post, Davido wrote,  “I need cane,”  a cryptic statement that has since stirred various interpretations from fans and followers. As the back-and-forth continues, fans of both artistes have flooded the comment sections, reigniting the age-old Wizkid vs. Davido debate and fueling discussions across social media.

Tinubu endorses AFRIMA 2025 as FG raises committee

  President Bola Tinubu has endorsed the 2025 edition of the  All Africa Music Awards , scheduled to hold in Lagos from November 25 to 30. According to a statement shared with  Saturday PUNCH , the theme of the event is “Unstoppable Africa.” Tinubu’s endorsement came in response to a letter from the African Union Commission requesting Nigeria’s collaboration for the next edition of the prestigious awards show. The statement said the Minister of Arts, Culture, Tourism and Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa, on Wednesday inaugurated an inter-ministerial Local Organising Committee to work with the host city, African Union and International Committee of AFRIMA to “plan and deliver a historic event. Cashless Policy will help reduce kidnapping – Yul Edochie

Popular Nigerian actor, Yul Edochie , has publicly appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to revive the cashless policy introduced by the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, years ago. In a post shared on Instagram, the actor highlighted the benefits of the policy, citing the positive impact on the nation’s economy and security. According to Edochie, the cashless policy significantly boosted the value of the Nigerian currency. He emphasised that the cashless system limited the access to physical cash, thereby reducing kidnapping incidents. He wrote, “To my leader, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, I humbly suggest you bring back the cashless policy. Angelique Kidjo becomes first African to receive Hollywood Walk of Fame Star

Grammy-winning Beninese singer Angelique Kidjo is poised to make history history as the first African artist to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The legendary singer was among the 2026 Hollywood Walk of Fame honorees recently announced by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. Other recipients include American pop star Miley Cyrus, French actor Timothée Chalamet, and American ex-basketball player and sports analyst Shaquille O’Neal. Also honoured are Filipino singer Lea Salonga, French actress Marion Cotillard, Indian actress Deepika Padukone, British actress Emily Blunt, and Canadian actress Rachel McAdams, among others. Official dates for the star ceremonies are yet to be announced, but honorees have two years to schedule their inductions.

N igerian singer, Young John has said his colleague, Davido, makes him feel intimidated financially. The ‘Go Hard Or Go Home’ crooner revealed this while responding to a question during a sideline interview at the Paris Fashion Week in France. He explained that OBO’s success also inspires him to work harder. Interviewer: “Ever met someone that made you feel broke?” Young John: “Too many times, bro. Davido. American rapp er and YouTuber Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr., popularly known as DDG, has sacked his cameraman for flirting with his date. I n a clip of his recent livestream making the rounds on social media, the rapper was seen on a date with model Tiana at a restaurant, but his cameraman, Johnny, kept distracting them by continuously flirting with the model. His action angered the rapper who then sent him a text, informing him that he had been sacked. “Check your phone, Johnny,” he told the cameraman after sending the text. The cameraman displayed the message he received from his boss on the screen.
